OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES IN TRANSITION FROM VIRTUAL TO REAL CLASSROOMS....

The most highly evolved species among the living organisms, Homo sapiens, i.e human beings are considered to be the experts when it comes to adaptability and acclimatization. Darwin's theory of ' Struggle for existence and Survival of the fittest' are evident proofs for this. a couple of years back when the fast paced life was at its peak globally, nature took everyone for a surprise when struck by the tiny living organism, COVID 19 VIRUS, life came to a standstill as confinement within the four walls of shelter in one's abode seemed to be the sole way out to escape getting victimized.

The new normal came in ....virtual world, as people all across the world took to cyber world. Meetings, offices, schools, colleges everything online. the biggest challenge posed for schools, as kids had to get accustomed to screen exposure at early age. Video on.....mute....unmute....PDFs etc were the new vocabulary. The only good thing was not having to wake up early, get ready and travel. The same classes and work could be carried out sitting in the comfort of the couch or bed in casuals and just keeping formal in front of the monitor. However, the urge to move out started creeping in, and soon things seemed to be in control to start working offline.

However, with two years of home comfort, back to physical schooling is again a challenge as kids are fighting exertion and exhaustion resulting from formal seating in a classroom for long hours. The 3 hour online classes are now back to offline 6 to 7 hours, almost double what it was. Definitely, restlessness sets in after 4 hours leading to entropy in the classroom. This is most seen in the 5 to 8 year old kids who are not habituated to sitting at one place. Making them do so is a challenge faced by the teachers who too are shifting from online to offline.

Human beings, esp, the kids are quick to adapt to changes, what requires is patience and perseverance. Forcing anything upon them can only invite rebellion and the outcome would be disastrous, as many would resort to truancy. Having a balance routine of physical activities and academic routines on the Timetable can help in this matter. Keeping only 2 written works for the day might also work as most kids show reluctance in writing. Getting the bones and muscles in the body to move from the rest period is actually the requirement. It is advisable to have kids jump in their places, perform a 2 minute exercise or a 2 minute meditation to get them set for the lessons.

Though they should be instructed to take studies seriously, in case they don't, reprimanding them for that would only spoil things. Counseling is needed to understand the reason behind this attitude. At every step, every child has to be handled with utmost care and feelings are to be taken care of.

Flexibility is a trait in kids, and with time the real world normality would soon return.

JOY IN NATURE

 Holding an umbrella

I walked in the rain

Thanking my heart

For the decision made

To venture out in the rain

Overshadowing the idea of calling a cab

To enjoy the beauty of Nature

Raindrops touching the ground...

Leaves swaying in glee and delight

Flowers with droplets shimmering in joy

Can visualize the peacocks swaying to rhythm

The whole world of flora and fauna gleaming merrily with excitement

The finest creation of Almighty wondering to laze and ponder

To skip work and lie in bed

Under covers to coze and drown

A call from Nature beckons

To come out and enjoy

Breathe in  the freshness and cheer in the joy!!!

JOURNEY OF MOTHERHOOD

The train stood at the platform

Waiting to pull out....

Carrying my heart and soul in it

To a journey of her dreams

As it pulled out at the dot of time

I found her pair of eyes trying to see me through the glass

The imploring misty eyed look touched my nerves

I realized how painful it is to wave the goodbye

The moving train struck the chord of emotions

carrying me down the memory lane

Cradle and crawl.....

Mischief and movement around the house

Sometimes laughter, sometimes wail

Screams which seemed to bring the roof down

The school going feet

The teenager with her friends

The board years

The mobile

Netflix and Music

Swiggy and Zomato to tide over the simple home made food

Suddenly youth turned into adulthood

School to college

The kiddo seems to be a smart damsel

Bold and decisive

Smart and intelligent independently handling her life

But for me still the kid calling me out for every little thing

Motherhood is so strange

Never lets the kid grow

Never accepts that change

Heart full of love

Hugs and blessings

With just a prayer to keep her safe and sound

Everywhere she goes!!!
